the deal with commitment

It's easier to miss somebody forever than it is to spend the day with them, every day for 20 years

YESdefinitely!!! I agree absolutely! But who wants to commit? Why is it so extrem difficult for some people?

the mean cynic having an off day would dispel that line as fortune cookie wisdom

but what's wrong with pithy wisdom?
(dr phil aside)

when you love deeply you DONT overlook all the stuff that drives you crazy, you just give different labels. First it's endearing, then it's kinda cute, then it's a bit off putting than it's starting to get annoying, now it's open festering wound, suddenly it's I WANNA GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE!

And twenty years later after you stormed out, never to return, it's all you remember fondly, achingly about ...
and the phone rings...
you meet
it's EXCATLY WHY YOU REMEMBERED WHY YOU LEFT IN THE FIRST PLACE!
Goo'bye!

hmmmm, let's see i dated my wife for 6 years — been married to her for 12 years... so I guess I've got between 2 and 8 years to get sick of her and leave...

naaaa, we might have our quirky traits but part of love is figuring out how to deal with those...and if not, what else are seperate vacations for?

my mom and dad will be married for 50 (!) years in august. they still have fun and laugh everyday. they are rather chaotic, my dad is a colombophyle, my mom a workaholic, they have a rather big television set, they don't have a bathroom.
whats their secret????
